Zenith Big Black Dial 6S222 Wooden Cube 4 Z Knob Deco 1937 AM/SW Tube Radio -NR For Sale

Here for your consideration is a Nice Original Zenith “Big Black Dial” 6S222 Wooden Cube Deco Tube Radio with the 4 original Zenith wooden Z knobs in original cabinet finish from 1937. This 6 tube (5Y4, 6A8, 6F5, 6F6, 6H6, and 6K7) set is 14“x 12“x 10“and is AM and 2 Short Wave bands covering 1.8 to 18.5 MHz short wave. The Big Black Dial with the “sweep second hand”, and brass Z dial pointer is a real joy- particularly at night with the dial lit up!! The cabinet is all original finish with no cracks, chips or veneer loss. I did nothing to it. It could use some polish to really “POP”, but I’ll leave the choices to the new owner. It has some awesome woods in it. This 4 knob version is nice as it has a separate tone control, and with a 6F6 output tube and 6” round top speaker can really put out some volume and tone!! The original speaker grill cloth is still on the set and is in very good condition with one slight hole. I had my Tech Friend Tom replace a dozen capacitors, the line cord, and dial belt, repaired a crack in the speaker cone, and this beauty plays loud and clear!! On a short antenna wire in my basement I could pick up dozens of AM stations and a couple of SW stations. I’m sure that with an outdoor antenna you would pick up a lot of Shortwave.
