The item we have here was a simple cent coin minted in 1927 for common purchases and also the lowest valued coin in the United States. After 12 short years most likely being spent for a "hand full" of candy or some other small purchase; impossible today in the 21st century, this simple coin was morphed into a low cost tribute to a marvelous Art Deco inspired event on the eve of World War II. Today in the twenty-teens we have a still low cost mirror into a time not so long ago but oh so different than our world of the present.

Seventy plus years ago there was a World's Fair held in New York. This was a worldwide exposition celebrating Science and Technology and the brave new future of the world. This particular ashtray was an example of modern metal press technology. What is rare about this is it includes the 'before' blank and not just the finished product. Most people would obtain only the finished product, this individual included the blank.
