EU collection of previously unreleased Gospel recordings from the Killer himself. The truth is, these may be the best Gospel recordings Jerry ever made in his long career. "I believe in that old time religion!" he shouts, and proceeds to show US why, with a little spontaneous preaching and testifying between selections. Thankfully, the tape was rolling. These barely documented recordings from December, 1970 were made three days after he renounced worldly music. They reveal Jerry working with his road band on the stage of a small church out on Highway 41 in Memphis. There are humorous moments too, as when Jerry flogs his latest LP to the congregation ("You need the album and we need the money"). But in the end, nobody at his record company knew what to do with these tapes and they were originally unissued. Thanks to Bear Family, the music receives the treatment it should have some 40 years ago. Accompanying notes by Sun historian Hank Davis examine the music and document the events in Jerry's life that led to these recordings on this particular Sunday morning. Bear Family.

    AWESOME RARE JERRY LEE LEWIS GOSPEL RECORDING!!!!

    although this rare recording was recorded sometime ago it shows that jerry lee lewis is one of the kings of rock-n-roll who can sing old time gospel. this album is a must listen too and each song will move you right down to spirit!!! it's too bad jerry has only recorded one gospel album in HIS long great great balls of fire career and as I recommend this great album to those in search of a uplifting musical experience I also wish that someone would get the word to jerry to make another one!!!!. iam truly thankful that I discovered this great music and by all means I hope the same for everyone!!!!

    Good old time Jerry Lee

    This is a great CD and in many ways different from most Jerry Lee music, however somehow he can put his own mark on anything that he does. Highly recommend to anyone that loves Jerry's music.
