i've used bosch tools and lasers for many years with very good results. the batteries leaked and messed up the circuitry of my previous bosch dot laser, which was my fault not the tool. this laser has performed flawlessly for me and i expect it will last many years. bosch suggests you take the batteries out of the laser if not used for a long period time. if you do that this laser will probably the last dot laser you will need to buy
