Top quality six-string banjo at a great price. Great action and playability. To a purist, the six-string may not sound exactly like a five-string, but to me having another string in the lower range ads more versatility to the tone. Too, if you're a guitarist who's already fairly adept at finger style playing, it will be an easy transition from guitar to banjo. The Deering will give you the tone and playability you're expecting, something the lower priced six-strings cannot deliver.
I've wanted a guitar/banjo most of my life. I couldn't have afforded buying this new, and I was very pleased to discover this one at a very reasonable price. All it needed was a good cleaning, and a new set of strings, and it was good to go. It';s a pleasure buying something that is even better than I expected it to be.
