I have a Porter Cable air compressor that was having a very hard time building air so after some research on the correct fix I discovered that it was just in need of a new piston ring and cylinder no enter more research as my compressor is 17 years old and I found this repair kit the K0650 repair kit which technically it's for a craftsman air compressor but it will fit the porter cable and the devilbiss brand air compressors and probably more models. Anyway very simple to install and a exact match all you need to do to install this is first remove the plastic outside housing surrounding the motor then the the single bolt holding the fan on the compressor rod I believe it is a 3/8 size socket be careful not to break the fan once you remove the fan then you'll need a T25 torx bit and loosen the single screw at the bottom of the rod.and the single screw in the center of the little piston to remove the piston top and remove the piston and rod then the old cylinder just slides right out install the new cylinder and you have to install the rod through the bottom of the new cylinder because it has a lip at the bottom and you cannot get the piston in through the bottom with the piston top on. Then reassemble everything in reverse order and install the new orings.and reassemble the head and air line and you're good to go the process took less than 15 minutes and you'll have a almost new compressor mine hasn't run this good in 15 years. The kit includes a new piston cylinder a new piston ring new o'rings for the head and instruction sheet and a new screw for the piston top and it has the recommended torque settings. All in a easy to handle box. Read full review

I had a fitment issue which may have been entirely my fault- it’s possible I ordered the wrong bits.... The Cylinders were longer than my originals and has a lip at their base which was too small in diameter for then piston to fit into them. Otherwise everything fit perfectly. The length was not an issue as there was more than adequate crank and rod clearance but the lip had to be reduced by about half its thickness in order to fit the piston. Ring fit and seal was great and my compressor filled from 0-120psi on the break in run in less than 5min. The compressor now cycles on at 85psi and reaches its shutoff limit of 120 in about 90 sec. Overall I’m very pleased with the kit but if I hadn’t had a lathe at my disposal the fitment would have been a hassle.

Worked good on my Craftsman 33 gallon horizontal compressor. Parts are a bit different than stock. I was confused at first because there were extra parts not shown in the picture. Looks like the kit would work for many brand compressors. The piston rod needs to be removed in order to install the sleeve due to a lip that is not on the factory sleeve, however no big deal. Works great. David Thomson

It fit on my old 30 gallon airless compressor fine except I hand to remove a small amount of material at the base to clear piston.....machine runs like new!!

This kit restored my Craftsman air compressor to like new working condition. It was easy to install. It's really satisfying to be able to repair a fairly expensive piece of equipment instead of having to discard it. The cost of the repair kit is truly insignificant compared to having to purchase a replacement compressor.
