This is an older model solar calculator that will work most lighting conditions. If you can read the buttons then the solar cell will probably be able power it. The functions are more basic then a scientific calculator but include everything I need without the clutter. It has a basic memory, fraction conversion, trigonomic functions, Pi, and most importantly the "K"button or constant function. I do a lot of metric conversion and find this button saves a lot of time.

I particularly liked the Texas Instruments TI–30 III because of its key layout. It is much more convenient than many of the other calculators made today. I originally bought one about 35 years ago. The original battery lasted about 30 years. About two years after I replaced it my TI 30 when bad so I wanted another one. This particular model seems to be quite rare. I was very pleased to know that I was able to find one on eBay. It is like new. I am quite happy with it.
