This sensor is the same as the one it is replacing, which is both good and bad. The good is that it works well, is reasonably accurate, is easy to mount, and is mostly robust in construction. The bad is what lead to the "mostly robust in construction" statement. The wire tie may not last as long as the rest of sensor, and if so, the wire may separate from the thermistor. This is what happened to my previous one. And while it sort of works, it no longer provides a reliable and accurate temperature. I still recommend the 8052, but be aware of this long term weakness. A dab of adhesive at the wire tie location may mitigate the impact of a failed wire tie.

Upon receiving the outdoor sensor on carefully inspection there3 separate breaks in the insulation very small. I should be able to seal it up with liquid electrical tape .

Installed it on the outside of our house in a different location, ran the wires into the house. I used the wire nuts provided and turned on the furnace. Went to adjust the humidistat and it worked perfectly. Very happy!
