Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Mallet Percussion
I have taught band since 1978 and in those years my percussionists have always use the metal bells that come with their drum kits. I took a chance on the Yamaha Tx-6 xylophone and I could not be more pleased. The instrument has a great sound and the tuning is spot on the money. The "white" keys have a staff printed on them just below the "black" keys and each key is notated. This is much better that having the letter name and will help the streets learn to read notation. The only thing I will change is that the included mallets are a bit short for middle school student and they are too hard and if played strongly and will dent the wooden keys. I'll change mallets before I issue these to my students.

Bought this for my seven year old who wanted a marimba very much. He does play piano which translates well to marimba. My son absolutely loves it! It is high quality, very sturdy and the “white and black” keyboards come apart easily to make it take up less room when not in use. The sticks that come with it are pretty loud, so we purchased some soft mallets for taking the volume down a notch.
