I am in my 80's and I can use this one, slices the tree limbs nicely, no effort needed, much nicer than the others I have bought in the past and for sure the price was good..

I purchased this electric chain saw because the price was under $50 and I did not have a heavy need for one, just the occasional larger limb pruning around a typical home. The chain saw I received was clearly refurbished and shipped with minimal packing, the bar oil had leaked. There was no case for the saw or chain bar cover. The saw itself is easy to use and fairly intuitive. I don't think the saw was any great saving. I got a tool that I'll occasionally need for a cost I could live with.

I recieved this saw as a gift and as many have said, for the price it's not a bad deal. But being a cheap saw it has a couple issues. The first is that if/when you cut larger pieces of wood such as pieces over 8", because the blade is so narrow or my chain just cuts weird...the saw cuts through the wood with a curve. So the wider in diameter the tree you're cutting is, the bigger the curve will be by the time you cut through the piece. The curve can get so abrupt I have to flip the log over and cutting from the other side. I only use this saw for cutting wood to proper length for my wood stove. Also, the short 8" cord is ridiculous. Because it's so short, there's virtually always pressure (pulling) on the plug, and it often comes unplugged. A simple and better solution would be to put at least a 10' cord to provide some working area. Finally, mine stopped working so I took it apart and found one of the wires in the 8" electric cord had actually broke. Don't ask me how that happened...but it broken. Was it cheap wire, or was the wire abraded where it goes into the plastic handle? I replaced the 8" now broken electrical cord with a 25' electrical cord I cut the female end off of. Works better now where I'm not unplugging it when I'm moving around with it.Read full review

I have a gasoline powered chain saw, but it is a real pain for small jobs. Getting fuel, mixing oil, pulling until if finally starts. I purchased the UT43120 electric chain saw for only $50 refurbished and it is perfect. No fuss, no muss no bother. PUl the trigger and cut the branch, 4" branches are no problem. because this saw is not as powerful as a gasoline saw, it is beneficial to make sure that the chain stays sharpened. If the chain is sharp, then this saw is excellent.
This saw was bought reconditioned at a very good price and in my opinion is a good deal. -I understand that gas powered chainsaws are more powerful and more portable, but I have a small yard and had to cut some fallen branches. This one did the trick. The chain popped off two times, but basically it was my fault and now that I know better seems to work OK. -I have had it only for a short time, so can't say how dependable it is, but no complaints so far. I'm basically a lazy person and did not want to deal with mixing gas and oil for a gas powered one. This is the one for me. If you need more power and will work away from electricity get the regular gas chainsaw along with earmuffs.
