From the creative genius that brought us The X-Files, Millennium is a dark and brooding saga of former FBI profiler Frank Black. Frank has a gift, he can place himself in the mind of a murderer. He can see what the killer sees, and Frank uses this gift to track down serial killers and bring them to justice. After suffering a breakdown, Frank brings his wife and daughter to Seattle and agrees to act as a consultant for the Millennium Group. The group is a government agency shrouded in mystery. In fact, that is one of my problems with the first season... just who is the Millenium Group? What is their purpose? Why do they have complete access to local and federal law enforcement agency databases? I don't think that these questions are answered very well. Season Two would go further in explaining the group, but for now we're left in the dark. Un-itiated viewers should be warned of the show's dark atmosphere. This is just a bleak, bleak show. There is little humor here, which makes the grim subject matter all the more harrowing. This is exactly what I was looking for in a TV show when Millenium premired, so I was very happy! Season Two would lighten the tone a bit, even bringing in The X-File's Jose Chung (played by Charles Nelson Riley)for a bit of comedy. Lance Henricksen's portrayl of Frank Black is what really pushes this show into the realm of great TV. Henriksen makes the character a belivable person, despite his gift. I highly recommend this show to fans of The X-Files, or the horror/suspense genre.Read full review
Unbelievably RARE dvd box set of a nearly impossible to find/stream late 90s FOX series that was brilliant!! No one has this for sale/stream in this !! UNOPENED condition!! Amazing price to boot

Great series, probably was too high brow for the average viewer. Lots of mythology, science and detective work. Good to see Lance on the screen again.

A group of short stories with the overall theme. Lance Hendrickson is perfect for this part. This will be my third going around with this show since it came out.

This is a series that's best watched 20 years later, as things like "dial up" are so archaic they are just laughable these days. The story telling isn't great for every episode, but the family dynamic is rare for most series television, the hero usually is divorced, estranged from their kid(s), so Frank's reasonably decent homelife I liked. Even though the series is filmed in Vancouver, I as someone born in seattle, I think BC captures the seattle that I grew up in, and not the antifastan it's become over the years.
