I bought this saw for parts to use on my 2010 year model,after looking it over I realized the suction line for the primer pump was to long. Unless the fuel tank was full,it was not in the gas. Shortened the line,fired right up,after small carb adjustment runs great,my old saw is now the parts saw.

I am able to do a lot mechanically to keep my equipment running. this chain saw would not start after doing all that should be required to start a 2 cycle small engine. after an hour of trying it would start but not keep running. tried next day cause thought might be just aggravated but another 1/2 hour to start run for 30 seconds pick up start cutting dies new gas mixed exactly with 2 cycle oil given. going to have to have someone check fuel delivery system. Saved no money buying it from here. actually probably will cost more than buying new from k mart.

This is a nice small chain saw for a good price. Light weight and easy to use. I have begun using it for trimming bigger branches in the yard and cutting up wood that is to big to do by hand.

I bought this saw based on the mostly good reviews and against my better judgement. This saw came with a new bar, chain, air filter, 2 stroke oil, manual and chain tool. Tried to start it today - attached bar and chain, I mixed 40:1 gas (no ethanol), filled with bar & chain oil and was ready to go. Unfortunately the saw wasn't. After about 15 minutes of following the starting instructions with no success, I took the cover off to inspect the spark plug. It was fouled, so off to the hardware store for a new one (Champion RCJ-7Y). It turned out, I wasn't able to start it on full or half choke, only with the choke off could I finally get it to turn over. I let it run the 30 seconds at idle like the manual says, then pulled the trigger. The engine sputtered, the chain began moving, then when I released the trigger, it died. A few more attempts with similar results, it just kept dying under load. During this time the engine kicked out a ton of dirt, which required me to clean the spark arresting screen and the casing. Another 15 minutes or so of carburetor adjustment and I finally got it to kick over and stay running. After that the saw worked well. It got the job done. For a homeowner-quality saw it works fine and for the price, you can't beat it. I just got it to buck up a few trees in my city lot every now and then. In all, buying this used saw cost me about an hour of my time and $7 for a new spark plug. Not a big deal, but I wasn't overly impressed with it either. This is my first experience buying a manufacturer refurbished tool. If I had it to do over, I'd think twice about buying used online. When you buy from a brick and mortar store, at least you have some place to return it (you can't ship it back once you've filled it with gas). That said, if you want to save some money, and are willing to play amateur mechanic, it may be worth the leap of faith.Read full review
