Great product but I can't get the package open!
I have used this product before and it is a great product. This was a good deal but I can't get the drum open - usually I can take out the plastic pieces that prevent the lid from turning (you are supposed to be able to just push them down and release the lid but it doesn't work - at least not with my hands) but this time, after a chisel and kitchen knife, I managed to get the pieces out that prevent the lid from turning to open, but it still will not turn. I'm leaving a 5 star review as I know this is a great product but for all i know it could be a drum full of baking flour. I appreciate good packaging and security but there are limits. And, because I bought it online I can't just take it back to the store and have them get it open. Perhaps most people are better at the mechanical side ... I have used this product before and it is a great product. Something about this product leaves the pool cloudy. Clean filters, run 24/7, tried using Clarifier and Green to Clean that have worked everytime, nothing pool still cloudy. The Chlorine level is great, I don't know what happened, just that other people have had the same issue. Pool tests have revealed the pool was perfectly balanced. Will use in my pool in winter only when not in use, wont purchase again, sorry. People, all pool containers this size open the same way, lol. Looks like childproof has bitten some grown ups, figure it out, great opening lid and safe. Now, wow on the chlorine, very sharp on the nose, it is strong. Goes in the pool w/o too much floating on top like other brands can have. 60% cheaper then store bought chlorine pound versus gallon. And it keeps the ... I still use it to keep CA down, but this product is a great additiion, especially in the dead heat of summer. One tub should last all summer, maybe 3 pounds a week, plus 1 or 2 gallons store bought a week.

Exactly as advertised!
Zappit, based on experience, is my most favorite pool shock that gets results FAST! Finally getting the algae killed off and am able to see the bottom of the pool (bought 100 lbs of some other brand and still had a green cloudy pool after 2 months!) From now on I will only use this brand. At least until I switch to salt water after the huge price hike due to shortages!

Was worried after reading a couple reviews that this product was its not advertised strength, which seemed plausible due to the incredible price on this. I can allay any concerns you might have: The product is exactly as advertised, 73% available chlorine cal-hypo, at the best price out there! Each time I add some my free chlorine levels rise to the expected levels, measured by FAS-DPD. Some have complained about difficulty opening the bucket. I also had problems with the locking mechanism and in fact it broke off while I was trying to get into it; however, I just keep the lid closed tightly, which works for me. The bucket itself is of very high quality, if a little large for the contents. I like having a larger-than-required bucket, so again this was not an issue for me. Highly ... I use it in my pool about every other day & then shock once a week( example Tue. Thur. shock on Sunday) pool stays beautiful saves me a lot of money & it is easy to use. Never hurts my eyes or skin.
