When I installed a new boiler, cold air prevented the warm flue gasses to go up in the winter, and the safety roll out switch kept on shutting the boiler off. My local heating guys recommended installing a liner which should fix it, but it did not do so. Next advice was to add 20' to the chimney which is lower then my house, never mind that it would be ugly since he did not have antique bricks. His next advice was to put an external suction device on top of the chimney. these are all very expensive and ugly solutions. I did some research and found the fan I purchased. I installed it myself, on a variable solid state speed controller. I turn it on when it is colder then 30 degrees outside. And I am very happy it does the work very well, and you do not need anything else.
