An interesting piece of Fender history. Oversized cabinet with Jensen speaker sounds reminiscent of a Bandmaster 212 cab. Amp chassis different than other Fender series. ie: Larger, tubes seat in pc board. Lots of nice features like 50/12.5 watt output, effects in/out with controls, some diagnostics and adjustments. Has a nice sound and a lot of bang for the bucks. Only negative is that it's heavy.

Principle is easy enough, works as it should.....keep in mind it means you still have to turn your amp levels of effect knobs manually. Basically you use it during the entire song unless you have time to stop playing between sections of a song so as to turn knobs off this turning the effect off. Get a foot switch if you want easy on/off ability.

This amp was properly respected by replacing only the capacitors that drifted out of spec. The Ajax blue molded caps were left in place giving it that characteristic chime. It is a player's dream with more mojo than most botique amps can ever match. There is just some magic in the blackface circuit that cannot be reproduced--in my opinion. I am happy to have acquired one of a rare breed of tone machines and I hope I can do it justice.
