Very impressed. Well organized in small lock bags with clear neat labels which made it easy to organize in a multi compartment plastic see through case.

In a nutshell, these are ok for the hobbyist or non-critical work but in any case, you will definitely want to check the values before soldering them in place. Some of these capacitors were 50% off of the marked values. I finally got around to using these capacitors today. I was selecting capacitors for a filter network in a 250mw QRP transmitter when I noticed erratic results when changing the final capacitor value from 330 pf to 560 pf. The capacitors arrived in marked bags, as advertised. The leads are a little bit dainty, but useable. I checked the bags of 330 pf and 470 pf. The 330 pf were good, most within 5%. The 470 pf were mostly within 10% and a few were +/- 20%. I checked the bag of 100 pf and almost all were 60 to 70 pf, one was 52 pf and none were over 80 pf. I didn't have time to check more. I did double check the ones that were way off with a second tester and that confirmed things. Fortunately, I don't mind checking components before soldering. It's something that I have learned to live with when buying parts from east Asia. I'm glad I bought these but they might not be for someone who needs parts that are properly marked and tested.Read full review

This is a lot of caps for a very low price. Sadly that's the best I can say about them. As others have stated many of these caps are wildly off their supposed value, sometimes by as much as an order of magnitude! Without at least a basic capacitance tester this kit is effectively useless wherever the value is remotely important! The only application I can think of would be as bypass capacitors on a breadboard, in which case you wouldn't need a whole 50 values to begin with. And if you weren't on a breadboard you may as well take the SMD plunge and spend the same amount on quality SMD caps. Luckily for me I have a cheap capacitance tester, and I've noticed something interesting. I believe this kit is composed of surplus caps for what values they can get this week, and manufacturer rejects for the rest, and that is how they make a profit on these. Some of the bags are composed almost entirely of caps that are within -10%/+20% tolerance. Other bags however have values that are all over the map. Of course all the caps in a bag are identically marked so there's no way to tell the good ones apart without individually testing them. Fortunately I haven't found any that are short... yet. Don't think of these as having poor quality control, think of them as being REJECTED by quality control!Read full review

The package is just what I wanted. Price & delivery were fine. The problem is that the 100uf capacitor is really ONLY 50uf.....so I had to use TWO (in parallel) to get 100uf. I had the 100uf in a circuit and the circuit wouldn't work....after "hours of trouble shooting" I finally checked the capacity of the 100uf with a meter....to find out that it was only 50uf. So now I have to worry about the value of all 1000 pieces...!

A very good selection of capacitors to have on hand for doing repairs to small electronics. In my case I used them for repairing guitar amplifiers, mixers and PA systems. Very handy selection and a good price.
