My dad had a previous model soldering gun similar to type of soldering equipment. Weller is a name you can count on.

The soldering iron has not worked properly since Had it which is been about two to maybe three weeks it does not heat up consistently it works great on one Solder once you jump to the next it won’t heat up at all just makes a low buzzing sound. I’m in contact with the manufacturer now, we will see what they want to do about their products this is the first part of a two-part review

Ease of use is great, a gift for my son who is a solider, often needs to do repair work on his Miata.

I needed a bigger soldering iron for my Lithium batteries that I upgrade frequently. I needed an Iron that heats up quickly and goes to extremely hot in seconds and this fit the bill perfectly. I read the reviews for the old 35-45 year old Wellers (the best in hand-held irons), they boasted "how solid those old models felt in-hand" Since I like new stuff I bought this instead! Don't waste your time on an old tool, buy the newest instead! It has 3-LED lights that light-up work areas extremely well. And a solid but light Nylon shell (not heavy Bakelite) and a new cord with safe insulation on it! It's a double insulated tool so no need for a ground.

The three lights actually light up what you are workng on while you are working on it, unlike most other guns I have had. It heats up very quickly which is a big advantage working on fine wires and parts like I do (wiring guitars). Used a nice universal easy to find affordable tip. Just a really good product all around.
