Best Magnifier I have ever used.
I have bought several cheap magnifiers over the years. Finally decided to get a decent one. I bought the OptiVisor on recommendation. I am glad I did. This is orders of magnitude better than what I had. If I break or damage this one, I will quickly buy another. If I could afford to spend hundreds on medical grade magnifiers I would, but since I can't, the OptiVisor is the best choice I could make for the money I had to spend.I have bought several cheap magnifiers over the years. What strength to get? Plastic/glass? Check these out!
If you are not sure of what strength you need in an Optivisor this is the best and cheapest way to find out. The lenses are some kind of acrylic which has been nicely worked to give you clear vision and still save money over the ground-glass versions. For a hobbyist they are perfect. For a pro, I'd still opt for the glass. They are my second pair (two separate workshops) and the quality has not cheapened a bit in over 30 years.If you are not sure of what strength you need in an Optivisor this is the best and cheapest way to find out. Worth the higher cost
I was going to buy one of the cheap made in china products but decided to spend the extra money on this american made set. Definitely worth it. Optics are high quality. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the headband tends to slip out of adjustment. Not really a big problem though.

Having tried some of the lower priced products in the realm before, I can confidently state that the Donegan AL-S1 is the real deal. The optics are of nice quality, as is the entire assembly. You get four lenses of various strengths, which is handy. The key thing, however, is that the optics are clear and do not strain your eyes. The adjustable headband works well also.
