Frankly, these are the only TECs I've used--and just for experimentation--but they're impressive. Achieving a large front-to-back temperature difference requires a heat sink (I used a fan across the heat sink) enables forming ice on one side while scrubbing the heat from the other side. Alternatively, heating one side produces enough current to power a small DC motor. These were worth buying just a fun toy.
