Good morning all. Here is a very nicevintage wood-handled ice pick from the \"Kensington Hygeia Ice Co.\". No indication on the pick where Kensington Hygeia was located, but since I am in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic, that is a good guess. Besides, did you know that \"Ice never gets out of order\" and \"Ice purifies as it refrigerates\"?
For a pick that is likely over 100 years old and would have expected to receive hard use, this is in very good condition. The shaft is straight. While I don\'t think the point is absolutely original, the shaft is close to full length. Don\'t be fooled by the magnified picture, the point is more than sharp enough to give you a nasty puncture wound. The wooden handle is in amazingly good condition, with much of the original varnish, and never pounded on. The ferrule is firmly attached and does not rotate or wiggle around.
If ice picks are your thing, this is one to consider.
