PRODUCT:Premium-Quality Polyolefin Heat Shrinkable Tubing
Our polyolefin shrink tubing firms up nicely when shrunk, without becoming brittle like some poor-quality shrink tubes! Extremely durable. We only sell the good stuff! Check out our reviews! 😎
Wall Type: Single-wall (normal - does not have glue/adhesive inside)
Sized by:ID (Inner Diameter) how you measure a pipe/hose (across the round opening)
Shrink Ratio:2 to 1 (examples: 1.0-inch diameter tube shrinks to 0.5-inch diameter or less, eighth-inch diameter tube shrinks to sixteenth-inch ID or less)
Length: Use the "Lot Size" dropdown box to choose either pre-cut pieces or a large coil of tubing
If you need an uncut or longer length of tubing, we can almost always do this upon request. For example you could choose "six 9-inch pieces" and then tell us not to cut it so that you get a 4-foot coil. Just let us know, send us a message! We are eager to accommodate your needs when we can!
If you need larger sizes, go you need dual-wall (adhesive) tubing, go When choosing sizes, make sure you are thinking in terms of DIAMETER. Diameter is the measure across the opening of a round object, not flat. Larger sizes may be stored flattened on a spool before use, but they are still ALWAYS sized by ID (inner diameter) no matter the appearance. Refer to the chart/diagram in the additional photos for further reference info!
SUMMARY:
- Made of premium cross-linked polyolefin, a robust and versatile materialwith excellent properties and durability
- 2 to 1 shrink ratio; will shrink to one half of the nominal (named) diameter
- The named diameter is the size BEFORE shrinking. The diameter will shrink to HALF of the named size.
- Single-wall; contains no adhesives
- The tubing is sized by ID (inner diameter). Diameter is the measure across the opening of a round opened tube. Measuring across the flattened tube is different. Consult the chart in the photos!
- COSMETICS: The tubes are a light matte finish, not slick/shiny. Most of these tubes normally have the specs printed in tiny text on one side of the tube. However, clear tubing NEVER has text printed on it. White tubes USUALLY have no text. LARGE black tubes usually have no text. If it is important to you to know whether or not there will be text printed on the tubes, you can message me to check the current stock before you buy, just tell me the size(s) and color(s) you need
RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT:
- "Heat gun", "task oven", or "tubing torch" to shrink the tubing at 90°C ~ 110°Celsius
- Do not overheat the tubing, you can compromise it! Do not use tubing which has been overheated!
- Work in a non-flammable and well-ventilated workspace
- Always use safety gloves, protective eyewear, and a respiratory mask when heating not perform repairs of electrical/electronic components unless you are a qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable professional. Performing electrical repairs can be very dangerous.
- The tubing, adhesive, and other items you are working with can get very hot!Be careful not to burn yourself - avoid touching heated gloves, protective eyewear, and respiratory mask are all recommended. Work in a well-ventilated area and non-flammable workspace. Clear your surroundings to avoid accidents! This includes children and pets!
- Read and obey all safety instructions for operation of the heat source you choose to utilize when heating the tubing. "Heat guns" or specialized "task ovens" are recommended.Do not exceed 110 degrees Celsius when shrinking the tubing to avoid burning/degrading the tubing! Hair driers do not get hot enough to shrink most tubes, however they may be useful for tiny sizes. Torch/flame is NOT recommended as you may burn/damage the tubing.
- While heated, the tubing is in a softened state for 10-30 seconds or until it cools. Let the tubing cool and firm up before handling.
USAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
- Read safety guidelines
- Prepare equipment and work area
- Slide tubing over wire
- Apply heat to tubing to reach 90°C ~ 110°Celsius
- Allow tubing and wire to cool
HANDY TIP:The tubing is sized by ID (inner diameter). If you only know theflat widthof the tube size you need (measuring across a flattened tube), but aren't sure what ID you should choose, you can quicklyapproximate diameter by dividing by 1.6!For example: If you need a tube that is 3 inches wide when flattened, you would divide 3" by 1.6, which equals 1.875". That means you should order the 2" ID tube
