Here is a fantastic early dovetailed box, perhaps a bible box or a larger document box, original grain paint decoration , very early probably 1840-1870 probably Lancaster county, interesting choice of hinges as they used some ornate brass victorian hinges of the period and there nailed on not screwed on , this is something you see in Lancaster county , possibly the Amish community had it at one point and they just make do with whatever is on hand ! , the key works the lock and it still locks , great size
