Vintage fold-out 1941 Esso road map of Pennsylvania, printed more than 80 years ago.
The map opens to 23" x 33" and has great detail on old highway alignments, including the recently opened Pennsylvania Turnpike, with cartography by the General Drafting Company.On the reverse side there is a pictorial map of the state and inset plans of a dozen cities, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Scranton, Johnstown, Altoona, Erie, Allentown, Lancaster, and Harrisburg.The map was published in 1941 by the Standard Oil Company of Pennsylvania to promote its Esso brand. It is dated on the cover and in the legend.
