1965-1967Shelby Mustang Holley Carburetor List 3259-1, 715 cfm vacuum secondary 4barrel. Condition is New Old Stock.
Got this carb from the late Dave Cawthorne, who was a collector and seller of Ford NOS items. I purchased this just prior to the time period in the 80\'s when Holley was starting to re-issue the 715 carbs. I don\'t believe that this is one of those; it was sold to me as an original. According to Dave itoriginally came from a Holley depot, which was a place you could get parts, getyour item rebuilt or get a brand new carburetor. Story behind this particularcarb is that a customer came in, ordered it, paid for it and never returned topick it up. This one\'s date code is 764, which translates to it beingmanufactured in the sixth month (June), 4th week of 1967. How true this story is, I have only my deceased friend’s word. (Itdoesn’t have the center main body that “re-issued” carbs generally have and the date codeis far earlier) I don\'t know that Holley stamped past date codes that early onto re-issue carburetor air horns either. That seems a little deceptive to me and I definitely didn\'t stamp it. Has 4756 primary and 4560 secondary metering plates.
I took thephotos in January 2020 and it was the first time this item had seen daylight in 34years. I have no box.... it came to me just as you see it.
