The plates are made from ceramics with a polyethylene backplate (itself rated at Level IIIA).We tested the larger version with 2 rounds of 7.62 NATO M80, 2 rounds of 5.56 M193 and 2 rounds of 5.56 M855. None of them penetrated the plate. The only significant deformation is when a 7.62 NATO round struck 1.5\" from the edge.
