Designed to be strapped to the shoe or boot, this pair of Dutch ice skates features steel blades secured to wood platforms. The original Ijsvogel label is still affixed to one of the skates although worn away somewhat. I do not know what year these were made.
The translation of \"Ijsvogel\'\' from Dutch to English is the word for the Kingfisher bird.
