This elegant antique silver plated coffee tea service set was made in Sheffield England by James Dixon and Sons Inc. sometime around 1900-1910.
The six piece set consists of a lidded tea pot, a lidded coffee pot, a lidded tea/hot water tilting pot, tilting pot stand, handled creamer, and a covered, double handled sugar bowl. The style is Victorian. **The handle of the hot water tilting pot is broken, shown in the pictures, and should be repairable if taken to a quality professional**Each piece is crafted with fine detail and no silver loss. On the lid you see a melon motif with leaves and flowers, scrolled feet on all of the pots, and large claw feet on the tilting pot stand.
The tray, salt and pepper shakers, and coffee/tea sifters are extra pieces made by different manufacturers. They feature the same Sheffield melon motif designs. The tray is by Viners, also from Sheffield England. It is, like the set, silver plate on copper, and has a beautifully detailed floral pattern. The salt and pepper shakers are reproductions of the James Dixon and Sons set, made by Community by Oneida in the US in. Other pieces are unmarked.
This set is a family heirloom to a close friend. She inherited it from her mother who is the only other previous owner.
