Description: Besson\'s lavishly illustrated Theatrum instrumentorum et machinarm is one of the first French works on machines and mechanical engineering. It was originally published in Orleans with no imprint (ca 1569). Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after \'Jacobi Bessoni / Jacques Besson\'.
Subject: Antique print, titled: \'Artificium nunquam visum, quo par va hominum manu …\' - This plate depicts workers transporting the capital of a column on a system with pulleys and rolling platforms.
Condition: Very good, given age. Small spots in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
