This work has a foreword by the Honorable Dan A. Kimball, Secretary of the Navy at the time and an introduction by Admiral Raymond A. Spruance, USN (Retired) who helped turn back the Japanese at Midway and later took from them the Gilberts, Marshalls, Marianas, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. 482 pages, including an index, a glossary of abbreviations and a list of commanding officers. There is a fold-out map between pages 404 and 405 that is in fine condition. Many black and white photographs and charts. Volume itself has dark blue covers with sharp gilt lettering on the spine. Interior and exterior of work are clean, fresh, tight and bright.
