Ecpyrosis is an alluring, informative and voluminous publication consisting of sixteen articles drawn from the first five issues of Starfire, together with the best of the artwork. The cover reproduced here to the left incorporates beautiful artwork by Kyle Fite. Also included are two new colour plates: a frontispiece consisting of detail from the cover artwork by Kyle Fite, and an endispiece of the covers of the constituent issues of Starfire. Printed on a substantial coated paper in order to take the heavy blacks in much of the artwork, Ecpyrosis is a heavyweight volume is every sense of the word.
The first issue of Starfire was published in 1986, and the fifth issue appeared in 1994. These years encompass Volume One, the constituent issues of which have long been out of print and appear but rarely on the second-hand market. This selection of articles and artwork from these first five issues is newly typeset, the articles have been lightly edited where necessary, and the artwork has wherever possible been freshly scanned and cleaned to give sharper and clearer reproduction. Occultism: The definition of occult simply means hidden or unseen. Magick: This spelling for magic with a \"K\" was used by Aleister Crowley to define spiritual magick as opposed to mundane magic, such as pulling rabbits out of your top hat. Magick deals with spiritual forces within yourself and within the universe.
Witchcraft: Historically, witchcraft was seen as a diabolical pact with the Devil. We\'ve all heard of the witches riding to the sabbats on their broomsticks after anointing themselves with magical oils where they would dance and fornicate with the Devil and his homeboys. Today, however, witchcraft is not seen in the same light. Though today\'s Traditional Witchcraft can incorporate some dark spiritual aspects, such as the modern Luciferian Witchcraft. Wicca, however, deals with pagan gods and goddesses and has a creed of \"harming none\" and is basically nature worship and spell-casting, and herbal work.

Some teach you how to call up spirits of certain natures, cast spells, curses, make pacts with demons, and much more. Modern grimoires are what you will mainly find we offer. We live in the modern age, therefore, we try to offer grimoires more in sync with today\'s modern witch, magician, sorcerer or necromancer.
