Offered is a scrapbook featuring newspaper clippings, real photo postcards, printed postcards, and original amateur b&w photos from a national guardsman, involved in this large and involved war games scenario which took place at Fort Knox, KY. in 1936. From the newspaper clippings, it's indicated that at least two war games scenarios took place pitting the "Reds" vs. the "Blues" , with one side being a smaller size and mechanized with tanks of about 2000 , versus a more stationary force of 20,000 unmechanized soldiers. It appears national guardsmen from several states came to Fort Knox to participate in the war games. The former owner was from Beckley, WV.The scrapbook breaks down roughly like this: 24 pages of newspaper clippings explaining the war games, with lots of newsprint photos, followed by 16 postcards, some printed and some real photo, some of these are general Fort Knox postcards and not military related, about 6. Followed by original photos, which many have a descriptive captions written underneath on the scrapbook paper and also neatly captioned in white on the photos themselves, there are 23 of those b&w photos, which show the troops in various states, mechanized vehicles, airplanes, blimps/air balloons. Note: the photos and postcards are mounted at the corners and not glued in place so they can be removed. The newspaper clippings are glued in place. SHIPPINGAll items are shipped within one business day, barring emergency or events beyond my control. Buyers will be notified if shipments are late. Shipping occurs six days a week, exception of holidays and on occasion a Friday purchase may not ship until Monday morning. All items are shipped with either USPS or Fed Ex tracking. Fed Ex will not ship to PO boxes, a physical address is required. I only ship to the lower 48 states using Fed Ex Ground/Home delivery service.
