1950 Falls High graduate
Harriet Elson, a well-known watercolor artist, died on Dec. 21, 2010, at the Hospice Care Center in Copley.
She was preceded in death by her husband Russell and parents Helen and Raymond Fox. She leaves her three children, Pamela Elson, Raymond (Lanette) Elson, and Douglas Elson; grandchildren Amanda and Raymond; sister Marilyn (Charles) Beckwith, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born in Akron in 1931, Harriet grew up in Cuyahoga Falls and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1950. Her husband and children were her joy, raising them at Twin Lakes with good memories of neighbors and friends.
Mrs. Elson loved art. She was accepted into major exhibitions, selected for numerous awards, and included in corporate and private collections. She has been published in several art books and magazines. Her memberships included life memberships in the Ohio Watercolor Society and the Whiskey Painters of America, the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, and the Hudson Society of Artists.
A service took place at McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, an Anthony Funeral Home.
