Description:This is an excellent Japanese lacquerware box which wasmade in late Edo ~ Meiji period (1800 ~ 1900). It is beautifully decorated with \"a bird sitting on a branch of ramanas rose\"using the authentic Makie and Raised Makie techniques.
Originally, this box seems to have been made to store valuable belongings, stationery,and so forth.
Please review the photos. You would agree that this is an excellent example for you to know the authentic Japanese lacquerware artifact made in late Edo ~ Meiji period, i.e., at least more than 120+ years ago.
It is in excellent condition. A few fine chips and marks as well as scratches at the bottom are observed, which are consistent with the age of this box.
