This is the Wasabi mazuma which is a bit harder to find than the daruma variety. Mazuma is more compact with a red tinge to most parts. It is somewhat warmer growing than daruma but still requires cool conditions (45F-70F). It is also thought to be of a higher quality than daruma . This variety is slower to mature so is sold at a higher price than daruma.
