You will definately NOT find a second clock of this kind easily...it runs like an
engine and ON THE SECOND.
Special is the the echappement is visible through a little glass window in the
back plate, covering the movement.
The sound ofthe bell is something incredible!
The most special thing is that this clock has an extraordinary shape and
finds itself inagood condition and appears to be made of solid bronze,
because of its heavy weight ->more than 2.5kg!
It is one of themore rare ones in thiscategory, made by JAPY FRERES!!!
The ticking of it sounds likean engine....the movement is in a great
condition.
Special too, is that this beauty is marked on the movement, with the Japy
Freres mark.
On top thereis a bell which tells you it is time to wake up hitting the bell with
a large hammer, the sound of it is clear.
There is a (real) glass windowin front.
On the dial you will find the time inRoman numbers.
The dial is also divided into60 partitions; for each minute one partition,
making this piece a very precise instrument.
Precise indeed, because this beauty runs ON THE SECOND and PERFECTLY
ON TIME.
It comes witha paper dial in a great shape!
The hands are made of black metal.
There is an extra metal alarmhand on the higher part of the clockface, to set
the alarm.
The dial around it has a scale in Arabic numbers.
Both the time and alarm areadjustable on the rear of the clock.
This clock passed time without major cosmetic issues.
Overall this object is in a very good state but not new.
Used products have signs of use.
Mentionable is that this clock is POSSIBLY(!) (re)painted.
I am not sure of this butI want to mention it anyway.
