Description
This is a set of 10 wooden Sakazuki (sake cups) made in 1821. The year of production is written on the wooden box. 5 of the Sakazuki feature gold-lacquered cherry blossoms (sakura), while the remaining 5 have gold-lacquered chrysanthemums (kiku). There is a custom in Japan of drinking sake from the Sakazuki decorated with the seasonal flowers.
