These are primitive hand made snowshoes by the Alaskan Eskimo or Inuits. Features a long narrow frame with upturned prow making it better for tracking or running in level open countryside. For their age, these are in excellent condition. There is the typical drying of the sinew from age. All the sinew appears to be intact. One of the snowshoes has very minor loss to the wood on the underside. The snowshoes measuring 30 1/2" long x 7 1/4" wide at the widest point. The other snowshoe is 29" x 6 1/2" wide. These are19th century artifacts seldom seen or offered for sale. Rare Inuit cultural objects…..!!!
