The HTS5000 decodes the Dolby Stereo sound encoded in video discs, videotapes, and broadcast television; provides up to six channels of audio output. The decoder circuitry replicates the directional accuracy of the finest theater sound equipment, with digital time delays, distortion and noise free sound. It can also produce Simulated Surround Sound from ordinary stereo and mono sources.This is a processor only, requires an amplifier system for each audio channel speaker used. The Dolby Surround process is designed for use with any two-channel medium including DVD, Laser Discs,VHS,stereo television broadcasts, satellite transmissions, and stereo cable channels.
