Before getting started make sure you have the following. 11/16\'\' Socket & Ratchet, Clean Rag, Thread Tape Sealant & Your newanode rod.
Shutoff your water and then remove your existing water heater anode rod and let thewater drain. Once all the water has drained make sure your threads are clean bysimply wiping them out with a clean rag. Apply thread tape sealant (werecommend 3 to 4 wraps counter clockwise), then tighten your new anode rod witha 1 1/16\'\' socket and get back to cooking those marshmallows knowing your waterheater tank is protected.
