These NFM-8 TSMdual concentric studio monitorswere used in my studio. We found them to be so accurate that we not only mixed on them, but mastered quite a few albums on them as well. When you get your mix sounding just the way you dreamed it would, you won\'t have your heart broken when you hear your mix on another system. What you hear is what you get! They\'re really that flat.
Although they\'re great sounding monitors, they unfortunately don\'t look as good as they sound due to the manufacturer\'suse of \"anthracite\" coating on the cabinets. That stuff scratches quite easy (See photos). If you can get past the cabinet cosmetics, you won\'t find a better near field monitor. They sound as good as the day I bought them. If I still owned a studio, they wouldn\'t be for sale.
I\'ve left the chains on (see photos of chains on back) in case you\'d like to suspend them. They sound good standing up, suspended or on their sides with the ports on the inside andthe speakers on the outside tilted toward the center sweet spot of your chair.I\'ve used them all three waysdepending on the situation. They\'re quite versatile.In a small studio you can use them as the mains andA - B them with some4 - 5 inchnear-fields.
Because of the cabinetcosmetics, I\'m asking $450. They usually sell for $800 dollars or higher.
