Tjernlund Xchanger X2D Reversible Basement Fan kit open box.
It appears that this basement fan / dehumidifier was never installed (original wire ties on the cords, knobs still in the parts, no dust on any of the ducting surfaces, etc). Somebody probably tried to install and realized that they didn’t have the right equipment or know-how to do it on their own, so they put it back in the original box and put it in the garage. I then purchased it at an estate sale at a 1+ M home. As you can see from the photos, the unit is extremely clean, and the only blemishes are from where it appears a little liquid leaked on the top surface which I have pointed out in the pictures. This has had no effect on the performance, just cosmetic where it won’t be seen anyway.
To test, I plugged the two fans in to the control box and plugged it into the wall (last two pictures). once I turned the humidity level down, both fans fired up smoothly.
From looking through the manual, all mounting and accessory hardware appears to be in the box.

The XCHANGER model X2D is a dual fan mechanical ventilator capable of exhausting inside air, providing fresh outside air or provid- ing a balanced air exchange. The fans can be independently switched on or off or be easily reversed to provide fresh outside air or exhaust inside air. The X2D includes a dehumidistat control which operates the fan(s) based on the relative humidity sensed by the control inside the home. The dehumidistat control includes an “On” setting that will operate the fan(s) continuously or the switch can be turned “Off” so the fan(s) do not operate during undesireable seasons. The XCHANGERTM can also be operated by a standard plug-in timer.
