DIMENSIONS:301⁄2\" Widthx 15\" Height(assembled 3-print triptych)10⅛\" Width x 15\" in Height (individual prints)DESCRIPTION:Offered for your review and consideration is this absolutely untouched, estate fresh, authentic, original, color antique woodblock print, assembled triptych on mulberry paper by the prolific and legendary 19th century Japanese printmaker and artist Utagawa Kunisida or Toyokuni III. The figuration consists of two ladies, possibly the empress, her personal attendant and the emperor, wearing wonderfully patterned kimonos, sitting and standing inside the open screened doors of an interior room or boudoir, exposing the railed balusters of a veranda and a river, trees and mountains in the distance. The female attendant on the left appears to be holding and presenting steamed food in a vented serving container to the royal couple. Deep cerulean and ultramarine blues of evening and of descending darkness, providing the setting behind them. The three individual woodblock prints of the triptych were done on artist\'s mulberry printmaking paper. The colors remain still fairly saturated, vivid and bright. Extraordinarily beautiful. Very early. The triptych is unframed and how it was found when it was discovered, along with another early to mid-19th century Japanese Ukiyo-e, color woodblock, figurative triptych in the same large format pressed board, fastened portfolio. Signed in black and orange ink in Japanese hieroglyphic calligraphy by the artist and stamped by the print publisher. Nearly 175 to 200 years old. Honest. Authentic. Original. Real. Amazing.
CONDITION:Good to Very Good overall antique condition.
