This is an early 19thcentury Royal Crown Derby censor base. The base has four lions feet and aroundthe rim are bacchanalian heads. It is hand painted is Imari style colours. Inthe base of the bowl is a grid if holes which allows the smoke to filter thruto the holes within the censor base. On the base is a hand painted Derby mark
Condition: in goodcondition, but as mentioned no lid. Just a small chip to the inner rim wherethe lid would have sat.
Size approx.: 11.5 cmacross, 10 cm high. Would rake lid approx. 10.5 cm across.
