Engraver: Lauro Giacomo Born on an unknown date and died no later than 1650, he was an Italian engraver and printer active in Rome between 1583 and 1645. His masterpiece is the Antiquae Urbis Splendor, a map published in stages starting in 1612. It contains representations of the Temples of ancient Rome and the main monuments of the capital, including the Colosseum and the Mausoleum of Augustus. In the volumes published in 1614 and 1615, Lauro indicates that he has been working on this work for 28 years, that is, work that began around 1586.
