Vintage 1959 Oregon Centennial Douglas County Commemorative Wood Pass Souvenir
Up for sale is (1) fantastic piece of Pacific Northwest history: an original, vintage 1959 Douglas County, Oregon Centennial novelty pass. Issued to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Oregon Statehood (1859–1959), this piece features bold green stamped typography on a uniquely textured, thin piece of natural wood veneer.
The piece reads:
● "Good For One Free Trip Thru Douglas County, Oregon"
● "The Best Place In The West To Live + Work + Play"
In a nod to Douglas County’s rich timber and logging heritage, this promotional pass was printed on wood instead of paper. These were highly popular souvenirs distributed during local town festivals, timber carnivals, and centennial celebrations in the late 1950s.
● Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The dark green lettering on the front is sharp, crisp, and fully legible. The wood split remains completely intact with no splits, breaks, or chips. The reverse side shows a beautiful natural wood grain texture. Please review the high-resolution photos for complete cosmetic detail.
● Collector Appeal: A wonderful cross-collectible item perfect for collectors of Oregon history, Pacific Northwest logging memorabilia, unique ephemera, or vintage Western Americana.
