- An uncommon early novel by Canadian-American writer Frances Shelley Wees. Set in Oregon, it follows a woman’s development from childhood into adult life, combining family drama, romance and psychological observation. Wees was also known for mystery and detective fiction, making this more character-driven novel an interesting departure from much of her other work.
