In the early 1980s, Atari 2600 players who reached qualifying high scores on Activision games could take a Polaroid photo of their television screen, mail it to Activision, and receive an official embroidered High Score Club patch.
It wasn’t just a prize — it was recognition. A symbol that you had the skill, patience, and dedication to join a select group of serious players.
