\"Forbidden Planet\" Sci-Fi Ray Gun Blaster For Sale

If you\'re going to explore the galaxy, you might encounter nasty and homicidal life forms. You need a way to defend yourself! This blaster will help. Custom 3D printed in full scale (or \"life size\" if you prefer), this ray gun measures about 10 3/4\" long, 6 1/2\" tall, and 2 3/4\" in diameter. Colors are as shown with a translucent barrel.
Get the kit form (9 parts) if you want to add light and/or sound: The body is hollow and the grip has a cutout that fits a standard lever microswitch (limit switch) perfectly. Glue (super glue recommended, epoxy for mounting the switch) and a hobby knife needed for assembly. Kit version can be ordered with or without the appropriate switch (you will have to do some soldering and fitting of the switch. Make sure the switch is glued down and working reliably before gluing on the handle).
You supply the light/sound parts. Can also be painted for greater detail and realism. Uses a switch like this of custom 3D printed plastic: will show visible layer lines.The assembled unit does not have any light or sound.
Assembly notes:
Model building experience recommended. This rates about a 1.5/5 on the difficulty scale, where 1 is snap-together and 5 is 1,200 microscopic parts. Some sanding/trimming may be required.1. Glue required. Super glue is best but tube model cement should work. Please test-fit all parts before using glue, just like any other model kit.
2. The 2 gold (bronze) parts slip over the clear \"barrel\" to form a spool-like shape. They need to be glued. The clear \"spike\" goes into the opposite end of the \"spool.\" Refer to the photos in the listing.
3. The front of the main body may need some trimming in order to fit the forward part. It only goes on one way. Attach the front before gluing on the handle.
4. The trigger must be placed in the handle before the handle is installed. The handle must be glued onto the recess on the body. It fits neatly where it\'s supposed to go.
5. The rear cap may be a very tight fit. Some chamfering may be necessary.
6. The barrel assembly simply screws into the front of the body.
