This is a Stunning Blue Velvet Original WW1 Iron Cross Case First Class. This medal is complete, with a 3-part silver frame, magnetic iron core, it has perfectlyworking pin and clasp that closes nicely. It is marked with a small square that I am unfamiliar with as far as who the maker is. It is the rarer Vaulted-Type First Class that is often associated with aviators. It shows wear as most first classes do, with some very light loss of the blacking on the core. The blue velvet on the base of the case is absolutely stunning, and to my eye, has a slight purple tint. The case is all complete and in super condition with no damage; the hinge is tight as new, and opening works as new. Iron Cross emblem on the lid is clear, although you can see where they applied the emblem (see photos). They don\'t come much better than this.
