For sale is a complete 11-coin set of U.S. Wartime Silver Jefferson Nickels dated 1942 through 1945, including all of the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco issues struck during the wartime silver composition period. 35% SILVER

These special Jefferson nickels were struck during World War II using a composition of approximately 35% silver, 56% copper and 9% manganese. The large mintmark above Monticello was introduced to distinguish these wartime nickels from the regular copper-nickel Jefferson nickels.
The 1942-P was also historically significant because 1942 was the first year the Philadelphia “P” mintmark appeared on a U.S. coin.
CONDITION:
Based on my examination of the coins and the photographs, I would describe the overall condition as approximately Fine to Extra Fine (F-XF), with some individual coins appearing stronger than others.

The coins are housed together on a vintage-style presentation card/holder inside a protective sleeve. Making this a nice complete collection for a Jefferson nickel, WWII memorabilia, or U.S. silver coin collector.
